All About Astrology
You are going to find several differences that exist between the Western astrology and the Chinese astrology this is because of the different time and other aspects that each rely on for their interpretation of what a prediction should be. The Chinese vs. Western Astrology has some things that they have in common and also other things that they differ.

One of the things that you should know would cause this difference is the difference in the time that is used by the west and the Chinese as far as the calendar is concerned. One such difference is the fact that the Chinese New Year will be February the 3rd. The difference in time is one of the things that you should take note of very carefully.
The basis of interpretation of an individual in terms of astrology in the Chinese way is that they tend to lean more on the year a person was born and they say that the people who have been born in the same year have the same traits but in the west the basis of interpretation is emphasized more on the month that a person was born. In other words the Chinese will always focus more on the generation difference while the west will always view the psychological difference.

In the Chinese astrology the twelve signs that are used in their astrology are derived from a myth. The story goes like this. God had called for a race which animals took place in and they were asked to race and the first twelve of these animals were then granted a place in the Chinese zodiac.

There are also different reasons why there are different types of animals that are used for example the pig is said to have come last because the pig has always been confused by details and the rat came in the first and this is attributed to the fact that the rat used it’s cunningness to win. The west on the other hand has been relying on the signs that it uses today for the last two thousand five hundred years even though some of the signs that they use are derived from other cultures.

The other very huge difference that exists between the two is that the Chinese calendar is based on the moon while the western calendar is based on the sun. The other difference is that there are also differences as far as the elements are concerned and you will find that in the Chinese astrology they believe their five elements.
The elements in the Chinese astrology are wood, metal, fire, earth and water. While the west believes that there are only four and this are water, earth, air and fire. But with even all this differences they two still have many similarities.
